Lokvidhan 2.0 at Graphic Era

Dehradun, 23 Aug: Students from nine states at Graphic Era described farmers as the backbone of India’s food security. The young participants discussed ways to empower farmers to adapt to changing circumstances and strengthen the role of the Annadata.
At the valedictory ceremony of Lokvidhan 2.0 held at Graphic Era Deemed University, Chief Guest, Secretary of Programme Implementation, Uttarakhand, Deepak Kumar said that India’s food future will be shaped not only by agricultural production but also by strong policies, innovation and the active participation of youth. Deepak Kumar suggested that all resolutions and recommendations emerging from the Youth Parliament should be forwarded to the Government of Uttarakhand, so that the ideas and perspectives of young minds can find a place in policymaking and contribute effectively to the development of society and the state.
During the two-day conference, 1,300 student delegates from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal and Jammu deliberated through parliamentary debates and policymaking on issues including farmers’ rights, the use of AI in agriculture, modern irrigation technologies, agricultural processing and global trade.
In Lokvidhan 2.0, the title of Best School Contingent was won by APS Birpur, while UPES received the Best College Contingent award. Piyush from Ghaziabad was adjudged Best Delegate in Lok Sabha for his outstanding performance. Raunak Upmanyu was named Best Delegate in the All India Party Meet, while Bhagwat Maan from Delhi received the Best Delegate award in the Committee on Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
Lokvidhan 2.0 was organised by Graphic Era’s Youth Parliament Society. Pro VC Dr Santosh S Sarraf, Chairperson of the Youth Parliament Society Dr Prabha Lama, Dr BS Bisht, Dr Bharti Sharma, Dr Gaurav Dimri, along with other faculty members and students, were present at the event.
