The PHD Chamber of Commerce, Dehradun, along with representatives of industrial organisations of Haridwar and Dehradun districts, apprised Chief Secretary Dr SS Sandhu with the problems faced by industries at the Dehradun Secretariat.
Virendra Kalra described the difficulties being faced by the government in the “Ease of Doing Business” campaign along with the SIDCUL Entrepreneur Welfare Association (SEWA), President Himesh Kapoor.
They requested a review of the Uttarakhand Purchase Policy to give preference to local industries. Ketan Bhardwaj of the Roorkee Small Scale Industries Association requested the Chief Secretary to ensure notified land for industries. They requested that maps of all industries be passed through SIDA.
There was a detailed discussion on the damage caused to the industries due to strike by employees of the Electricity Department and the challenges faced by the industries due to the Covid epidemic. The Chief Secretary assured representatives of the industrial organisations that the problems would be solved at the earliest.
The Chief Secretary was also presented a memento on behalf of all the industrial organisations. A copy of the first edition of the magazine taken out by the Roorkee Small Scale Industrial Association was also presented to him by Ketan Bhardwaj. Virendra Kalra, Hemant Kochhar, Sunil Uniyal, Himesh Kapoor, Harendra Garg, Raj Arora, Ketan Bhardwaj and Rajiv Vaid were present at the meeting.
