Dehradun, 25 Jan: The BJP media in charge, Manveer Chauhan, today reminded the Congress leaders that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami were themselves leading the relief and rehabilitation of disaster affected families in Joshimath, in the aftermath of the Kedarnath tragedy of 2013, the Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi had merely undertaken one aerial survey of the disaster affected area. Whatever relief material had been sent by the Centre at that time had the images of Rahul Gandhi printed on them.
Chauhan claimed that at the time of Kedarnath tragedy when certain areas of the state were facing the natural calamity, the Congress leaders were engaged in a power struggle with each other, instead of sincerely engaging in overseeing rescue, relief and rehabilitation measures. It was raising the issue of Joshimath with a political motive.

Chauhan said that for the rights of the victims of Joshimath disaster, there was no need to protest by distributing pamphlets in Jammu and Kashmir, but there was a need to reach out to the victims and help them. The government was however making adequate arrangements for relief and rehabilitation for the victims. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami themselves were regularly monitoring the relief works. He reminded the local Congress leaders that Rahul Gandhi had even asked them to share the plight of the people of Joshimath but not many Congress leaders spent time in Joshimath but were busy in Bharat Jodo Yatra.  He claimed that the Congress was fighting a battle for its political survival.
