Dehradun, 27 Jun: Justice Vipin Sanghi will take oath as the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court at the Raj Bhawan, here, tomorrow. He will be administered the oath of office by Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd). The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 6.15 p.m. tomorrow. Justice Sanghi will take oath as the 12th Chief Justice of the Nainital High Court.
Earlier, Justices Ashok Desai, HS Kapadia, Vikas Sridhar Shirpurkar, Syriac Joseph, Rajiv Gupta, Vinod Gupta, JS Khehar, Barin Ghosh, KM Joseph, Ramesh Ranganathan and Raghavendra Singh Chauhan have been the Chief Justices in Uttarakhand. At present, Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra is the officiating Chief Justice.
This information has been mentioned in the notification issued by the Registrar General of the High Court, Vivek Bharti Sharma, today. Justice Sanghi is coming to the Nainital High Court after getting promoted from Delhi High Court. It may be recalled that, on 17 May, the Collegium of the Supreme Court had recommended the appointment of Justice Vipin Sanghi, a senior judge of the Delhi High Court, as the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court.
