Dehradun, 29 Jan: Kerala’s women’s basketball team delivered an extraordinary performance against Uttar Pradesh in the 38th National Games, securing a dominant victory by 39 points. Despite Uttar Pradesh’s late surge in the final quarter, Kerala maintained its lead to obtain the victory.
From the very first quarter, Kerala showcased its superiority, leading 21-11. Their dominance continued in the second quarter with a constant lead of 25-5. Uttar Pradesh showed resilience in the third quarter, narrowing the gap slightly, but Kerala still maintained control with a 14-12 lead. However, in the fourth and final quarter, Uttar Pradesh fought back impressively and managed to outscore Kerala by 17-9. Despite their strong finish, the early lead secured by Kerala secured its victory.
Both teams displayed remarkable sportsmanship and competitive spirit, making the match exciting. The game was not just about victory but also about the display of skill, determination, and camaraderie between the players of both teams.
Meanwhile, on the first day of the 38th National Games, Karnataka ranked 11th on the scoreboard after securing two bronze medals. With the competition heating up, all eyes are now on Kerala to see if they can maintain their momentum and secure the top position in the finals.
