Law College Dehradun felicitates student achievers

Dehradun, 6 Dec: Students who excelled in various competitions and classes were awarded scholarships and cash prizes today at the Law College Dehradun of Uttaranchal University. On this occasion, Vice Chairman of Sushila Devi Centre for Professional Studies and Research of the University, Anuradha Joshi was present as the Chief Guest, while Probation Officer of Uttarakhand Richa Kothiyal was the Guest of Honour and judge of the client counselling competition.

Pro Vice Chancellor & Dean, Prof Rajesh Bahuguna said that, in the memory of the late Sushila Devi, mother and inspiration of the University President, Jitendra Joshi, a scholarship of Rs 72,000 is given to the students who come first in their class. Also, on this occasion, various competitions including the Late Sushila Devi Memorial Moot Court Competition are organised.

In her address, Anuradha Joshi said that Sushila Devi is the inspiration for all at the University. She always envisioned an educated society. Today, the fact that most of the scholarship recipients and winners are girls is a positive step towards realising her dream.

Students who received scholarships were Deepa Kumari, Palak Gupta, Mishti Jain, Shruti Thakur, Anushka Garg, Shreya Bhatia, Rijun Goyal, Palak Singh, Samarth Garg and Aswati Shah.

Winners of the Sushila Devi Memorial Moot Court Competition 2024 were Shreya Bhatia, Dismas Odhiambo, Disha Bisht, Sneha Uniyal, Shlokarth Bindal, Shreya Chauhan, Saumya Upadhyay, Pratishtha Barthwal and Ujjal Prakash

Winners of the Client Counseling Competition were Aanchal Verma and Smarty Garg, while the winner of the Judgement Writing Competition was Sneha Uniyal.

The programme was conducted by the Moot Court Society under the leadership of the college Principal, Prof Poonam Rawat.
