Dehradun, 4 Sep: A workshop on the Indian Knowledge System was organised today at Law College Dehradun of Uttaranchal University. The topic was: ‘Mastering Mind through Indian Knowledge System’. Expert Divij Bhavsar of (Indian Knowledge System) Research Centre, Institute of Science and Spirituality, New Delhi, recognised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, was the keynote speaker at the workshop.
In the first phase of the programme, discussions were held on the concept of Indian Knowledge System, its glorious history, its contribution to the well-being of human society and its rationality in the present times. Explaining the practical aspect of the Indian Knowledge System, Divij Bhavsar said that it has a solution to every problem faced in human life. He based his speech on the sutras of Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta. He told the youth about the formulas for controlling the mind and positive and creative use of energy.
In his address, the Pro Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Rajesh Bahuguna, said that the new education policy 2020 has given priority to developing the Indian knowledge system and making it accessible to the masses. He said that, according to the MoU between the Institute of Science and Spirituality and Uttaranchal University, certificate courses, seminars and workshops on Gita Sutra will be organised regularly for the students here. He said that this alliance will form the basis of the Indian Knowledge Centre to be established in Uttaranchal University.
The programme was organised under the aegis of the Women’s Cell and Student Counseling Cell of the college. The programme was attended by the Principal of the college, Prof Poonam Rawat, Shivam Singh, Dr V Bhuvaneshwari, Amit Chaudhary, Dr Shikha Uniyal Gairola, Priyadarshini Tiwari and a large number of students.
