It’s 1:12 at night as I find time to plan and write this for you. A little cold and a little too silent, nights have been sober and days a little tipsy. From beginning to feel clueless as ‘new parents’ to being able to be the only ones ‘able enough’ to soothe our little one, time has passed well and worthy, for us.
As the winter evenings become colder, fairy lights and soft music become a charming attraction for most around the city. Dimly lit homes peeking through the dense green cover and tastefully decorated cafés uplifting the city’s spirit for Christmas is a sight to behold on the Old Mussoorie Road.
As we drive past these beautiful celebratory homes, many emotions fill my heart with joy and excitement, to embrace and celebrate my life for all that it is.
May I tell you the way wonders turn into realities and then swirl you in a whirlwind of love and peace?
May I share with you the treasure it is to have a partner who keeps your heart healthy, mind sane and makes the toughest times easy and breezy?
May I compliment the art of life for being so seamless yet finding just the right ‘bend’ to change it forever?
May I remind the parents what true joy it is to hold your baby for the first time and then, know that everything will take care of itself?
As we come close to closing this year, my heart fills with emotions. It has been a year full of love and happiness, new beginnings and better relationships. From getting married to becoming a mother, from shifting base to settling in well, it has only been a year even though it feels like forever.
May I mark the calendar and wait for the time we all unite to enjoy our city’s sweetness or will you finally gear up to explore the near and far bits of the valley that you have always desired to see?
It’s time for your long-awaited desires to finally meet the goal. From fixing fences to fighting fires, the cure of life has been growing.
It, indeed, is the best time of the year. With jingles and carols warming our hearts, this year Santa seems to have found his way to our abode.
Now, as we step into the next year, all I hope for is a journey as beautiful as this was.
Happy days are shining bright.
Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year!
As I bring this piece to a close, my tired self craves for a satisfying cup of hot chocolate till my little one starts to wake up again.
