Dehradun, 29 Sep: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi today participated in the ‘Aangan Ka Milan’ programme organised at Government Primary School, Gajiyawala, under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ being conducted to mark the birth anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On the occasion, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi felicitated outstanding Anganwadi workers, Anganwadi helpers and ASHA workers for their commendable work. During the programme, he performed the traditional God Bharai ceremony for pregnant women and distributed Mahalakshmi Kits, Baby Kits and Nutrition Kits to beneficiary women and adolescent girls. The Minister also distributed sweets among young children at the Anganwadi Centre.

Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi extended birthday greetings and best wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and prayed for his long and healthy life. He said that the Prime Minister’s birthday is being observed across the country as well as throughout the state through various service-oriented activities. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the message of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, and that honouring and empowering women is a priority.

Joshi said that the Central and State Governments are working for public welfare with the guiding principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’. He said that Anganwadi Centres are the first centres of learning for children’s development and inculcation of values. Anganwadi workers are playing an important role in childcare, nutrition and early education.

He added that after a mother, Anganwadi workers serve as a second mother for children, contributing significantly to their care and overall development.

Minister Joshi said that Indian culture teaches that where women are respected, happiness and prosperity reside. He said that the progress of a family, society and nation is possible only when the mother is healthy, the daughter is educated, and women are self-reliant and empowered.

With this spirit, Mahalakshmi Kits and Baby Kits were distributed to beneficiary women and Nutrition Kits to adolescent girls. He said that these are not merely kits, but represent a larger commitment towards addressing a mother’s concerns, caring for newborn children, and ensuring better health and nutrition for adolescent girls.

During the programme, Anganwadi workers expressed their gratitude to Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi for providing essential facilities and materials at Anganwadi Centres in the Mussoorie Assembly constituency.

Those felicitated were Anganwadi Workers Meenu Dhiman, Devki Chamola, Shilpa, Deepmala and Poonam Adhikari; and ASHA Sunita Chauhan.

Gram Pradhan Poonam Regmi, District Programme Officer Jitendra Kumar, Laxman Singh Rawat, Jitendra Rana, Sanjay Sharma, Mandal General Secretary Kiran, Bhopal Singh Chauhan, Avtar Singh, Maya Rana, Samundar Singh, Kedar Joshi, Sapna Mall and others were present on the occasion.
