Dehradun, 30 Mar: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi expressed deep sorrow over the death of retired Brigadier Mukesh Joshi in a firing incident that occurred in the Malsi area on Mussoorie Road, today. Following the incident, the minister visited Max Hospital, where he met the bereaved family members and offered his condolences.

During the visit, he also instructed police officials to take swift and strict action against the accused. He emphasised that police patrolling should be increased in sensitive areas like Malsi Johri village, and pickets should be set up at necessary locations to prevent such incidents in the future.

It is may be noted that, earlier in the day, a dispute broke out between occupants of two cars near Malsi over giving way on the road. During the altercation, one of the individuals fired at the tire of the other car in an attempt to stop it. However, the bullet accidentally struck retired Brigadier Mukesh Joshi, who was on a morning walk, leading to his death on the spot.
