Minister Joshi addresses students at SGRR Public School Annual Function

Dehradun, 22 Nov: Minister Ganesh Joshi participated in the annual function of Shri Guru Ram Rai Public School, Kalidas Road, as the Chief Guest on Tuesday.

School children presented many cultural programmes on the occasion.

Joshi distributed prizes, certificates and mementos to the students who excelled in various competitions in the school.

In his address, Minister Joshi first paid tribute to Mahant Indiresh Charan Das. The Guru Ram Rai Education Mission for children was established in the year 1952. He said the Mahant’s focus was always that poor children get good education.  He was an extraordinary personality and also a freedom fighter. Mahant Indresh Charan Das created a chain of 122 educational institutions in Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh including Uttarakhand.

 

Minister Joshi appreciated the fact that Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission is running schools as well as hospitals and medical colleges, along with universities. Joshi also gave some tips to the children. He said that it is necessary to have some major social elements in the life of every student. It is very important to have 5Ds’ (which is Determination, Dedication, Discipline, Diversity and Direction).

Joshi added that there has been a significant change in the country’s education policy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  The Ministry of Education has implemented the National Education Policy 2020. The main benefit of the National Education Policy 2020 is to bring about 2 crore children of the country back into the mainstream of education. He said that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state government has implemented the National Education Policy 2020 in the higher education system of Uttarakhand.

Principal Veena Rawat, Vinay Mohan Thapliyal, Vice Principal Raghuveer Singh Adhikari, HS Sharma, Bhavna Bisht, Mohan Bahuguna, Pradeep Rawat along with teachers, parents, etc., were present on this occasion.
