Dehradun, 29 Sep: Soldiers’ Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi visited Vikas Nagar, where he participated as the Chief Guest in the third foundation day ceremony of the PBOR Ex-Servicemen’s Organisation at a private wedding point today. The event began with the lighting of a lamp, followed by cultural performances by school students.

During the ceremony, Minister Ganesh Joshi honoured the Veer Naris and ex-servicemen by presenting them with mementos and shawls.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Joshi congratulated the PBOR Ex-Servicemen Organisation on its third foundation day. He emphasised that the Modi government is concerned about the respect and honour of soldiers, evident from the fact that the state governor is a former soldier, and the chief minister is also the son of a soldier. He noted that, since Prime Minister Narendra Modi took charge, the nation’s dignity has increased. The Prime Minister has actively worked to boost the morale of soldiers.

Joshi mentioned that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the government is providing jobs to eligible family members of each martyr. He stated that the Dhami government is committed to providing government jobs to the dependants of soldiers martyred while defending the nation, with 27 families already benefiting from this initiative.

He highlighted the increase in the awards for soldiers and the construction of rest houses for soldiers across the state. A new soldiers’ office is also set to open in Vikas Nagar soon. Minister Joshi announced the construction of a grand military dham in honour of soldiers, which will be inaugurated shortly.

During the event, the soldiers’ organisation submitted a five-point demand letter regarding various issues. Minister Joshi promised to fulfil the demands. He reiterated that the state government is continuously working for the welfare of soldiers and their dependents.

Present at the event were MLA Munna Singh Chauhan, Central President Shamsher Bisht, General Secretary Captain RD Shahi, President Bhupender Singh Dogra, Suresh Nautiyal, Mahendra Singh Negi, Mehr Singh Chauhan, and several others.
