BAJPUR, 16 Jul: As per the instructions received from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi reached Gumsani and Chakarpur and took stock of the situation of water logging caused by the flow of the Lebra River.
After inspection, he said that there should be no loss of life at the time of disaster. The situation of water logging in Bajpur is man-made because the Lebda River, which was 12 metres wide, has been reduced to 2 to 4 metres at present. He said that the problems have to be solved permanently so that they do not recur in the future. He directed the officers to prepare an effective action plan so that this type of problem does not happen. The government stands shoulder to shoulder-with the public in the event of a disaster.
He directed the Chief Agriculture Officer to assess the damage caused to the crops due to the flood and submit the report.
The minister said that disaster cannot be stopped but its effects can be reduced. Praising the work done by the administration to deal with the floods in Kashipur and Bajpur, he congratulated the DM, SSP and all the teams involved in the rescue and relief work. He also said that the problem would be resolved within a year.
District Magistrate Udayraj Singh gave detailed information about the work being done by the administration. Chief Development Officer Vishal Mishra said that 100 percent compliance with the given guidelines will be done.
DM Uday Raj Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Manjunath TC, CDO Vishal Mishra, BJP District President Gunjan Sukhija, Rajesh Kumar, Pankaj Kalda, Uma Joshi, Additional District Magistrate Jai Bharat Singh and other officers were present at the meeting.
