Minister Khajan Das reviews development works in Rajpur Road constituency

Dehradun, 29 Sep: State Cabinet Minister Khajan Das chaired a joint departmental meeting in his office at the Vidhan Sabha here, today, regarding pending and ongoing works in the Rajpur Road Assembly constituency.
The Minister discussed in detail the Municipal Corporation’s work in the Rajpur Road Assembly constituency, such as sanitation, drain cleaning, and fogging. Expressing displeasure over garbage collection and drain cleaning, he said that the Municipal Corporation’s work appears unsatisfactory. Repeated requests for cleaning are being made, causing numerous inconveniences to the public. He directed Municipal Corporation officials to streamline the sanitation system within 15 days.
The Minister also reviewed the work being carried out by the Public Works Department. He directed officials to strictly adhere to the CM’s directive to make all roads pothole-free by 15 October. He asked officials to expedite the work by inviting tenders soon to make the roads pothole-free.
The Minister, while receiving information from UPCL officials regarding the undergrounding of power lines, urged that all work be completed on time. He also discussed intersection beautification, the construction of a model colony, sewer line construction, the construction of a foot over-bridge on Haridwar Road, drinking water projects, pending Parade Ground and Paltan Bazaar projects, and other development projects. He urged that all projects be prioritised and completed in a coordinated way.
Expressing displeasure with two departments, Smart City and the Drinking Water Corporation, that did not attend the meeting, the Minister stated that accountability would be fixed for both departments. He stated that, to realise the Prime Minister’s dream of a developed India by 2047, we must begin with our homes, neighbourhoods, cities, and our state.
Municipal Commissioner Alok Kumar Pandey, along with officials from the Municipal Corporation, Public Works Department, UPCL, and Water Department, were present at the meeting.
