Dehradun, 18 Jun: It is a privileged moment for Nanhi Dunya “The International Movement of Children & their Friends” that after an outstanding performance, last year, Brave Kids has invited another group from Nanhi Dunya to represent India again, this year.
Artistic instructor Ashu Satvika Goyal and six young cultural enthusiasts, namely Khushi, Sanya, Aanchal, Manish, Saksham and Rahul from Nanhi Dunya will represent India in Brave Kids, which is a cultural educational programme to be held in Poland from 15 June to 10 July 2019.
Before their departure, the team interacted at Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi, with Union Minister of Human Resource Development Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’. The group along with the members of Nanhi Dunya interacted with him.
Minister Nishank said, “The talented children of Nanhi Dunya have achieved a milestone with their hard work which has added to the glory of our nation. This year these children will achieve new heights in Brave Kids and will make their mark amongst the children from Poland and other countries.” He commended the efforts of the dedicated team of Nanhi Dunya and gave them his blessings.
Before this, the children were also blessed by CM TS Rawat, Speaker of the Uttarakhand Assembly Prem Chand Agarwal, and Secretary, Education, R Meenakshi Sundaram.
Awarded the ‘Bharat Vikas Ratna’, Ashu Satvika Goyal said that this festival is collaboration between UNESCO and the Cultural Heritage Ministry of Poland. Its mission is to unite children from all over the world in an atmosphere of friendship and develop respect for each other’s cultures. It brings together talented young people from countries affected by humanitarian issues (such as natural disasters, political conflicts, poverty) and young people from more stable backgrounds.
Last year, children and a group leader from Nanhi Dunya represented India at the 9th Edition of Brave Kids programme which took place in Zhydachiv, Ukraine.
The group was led by Ashu Satvika Goyal, Project Facilitator and an active member associated with Nanhi Dunya for the past 10 years. Children were fortunate to interact with eminent personages like the Mayor of Zhydachiv City, Ukraine, Yaroslav Gavr Ulchyk and Vice-President of Pizemysl, Poland. Further, on their return, the Vice President, Venkaiah Naidu, had met the children and members of Nanhi Dunya on 12 July, 2018, at his official residence in New Delhi.
Nanhi Dunya is a registered charitable society working in the field of Education, Child and Women Welfare since 1946 in and around Dehradun Valley. One of the main aims of Nanhi Dunya is to contribute to a peaceful, sustainable and integrated world, where all living beings can live and grow in universal harmony. It encourages children to attend festivals like Brave Kids and contribute to a harmonious world.
According to the Chief Promoter of Nanhi Dunya, Kiran Ulfat Goyal, Nanhi Dunya is committed to working for women and child welfare. It is a movement by which children can transform their dreams into reality. These efforts of Nanhi Dunya are reflected through its participation in international cultural festivals. She added that the talented children selected for Brave Kids belong to the weaker section of society and represent the future of the country.
She reiterated that if the administration and educated section of society puts an integrated effort into motivating these children, they could take the country to new heights.
