Dehradun, 26 Apr: The first match of the day in the ongoing 5th All India PC Batta Memorial Cricket Tournament, 2023, today, was played between St Xavier’s School, Lucknow, and Modern School, Delhi. The toss was won by Modern School, which decided to bat first and posted a mammoth total of 251 runs with no wickets lost. This is the highest total ever scored in the history of this tournament. Tanmay Singh scored the highest score by an individual yet in this tournament – 130 runs in 63 deliveries, with 10 fours and 7 sixes. Vigyat Kapoor helped him with 104, with 13 fours and 1 six. Chasing, St Xavier’s was bundled out for just 53 runs in 15.2 deliveries. Rajvir Suri took 4 wickets giving away only 1 run in his 4 overs. The Player of the Match was Tanmay Singh.
The second match was played between BK Birla School, Pune, and Doon International School, Riverside. The toss was won by DIS Riverside, which decided to field first. BK Birla managed to score 149/3 in their 20 overs with Prathamesh Waghmare scoring 92 runs in 69 deliveries. Batting second, DIS could manage just 71 runs in 13.5 overs all out. Pratik Wagh and Srikrishna Ganesh Marathe took 4 wickets, each, for BK Birla. The Player of the Match Award was presented to Prathamesh Waghmare.
