Dehradun, 25 Dec: The torch of the National Games is set to illuminate every corner of Uttarakhand. The torch rally will commence from Haldwani tomorrow. Following this, the torch will travel to 99 locations across all 13 districts, spreading awareness on the National Games.
The 35-day route plan for the torch rally covers a distance of 3823 km. The rally is scheduled from 26 December 2024 to 27 January 2025. The National Games will be formally inaugurated on 28 January 2025, the day after the torch rally concludes. The route plan includes all 13 districts, with the torch visiting a maximum of 14 locations in districts like Almora and Pauri. According to the programme, the torch will stay in each district for two to three days.
Chief Executive Officer of the National Sports Secretariat and ADG Amit Sinha commented that the torch rally aims to spread awareness for the National Games. He added that all preparations have been made for this event. The torch will travel across Uttarakhand, and various other promotional programmes will also be organised.
