Dehradun, 11 Aug: The Best Student Award Ceremony was organised in School of Applied & Life Sciences, Uttaranchal University, here, on 9 August. Awards with certificate of appreciation were presented & sponsored by National Human Rights and Social Justice Commission (NHRSJC). On this occasion, National Joint Secretary SP Chaudhary, State President Amit John, District President Pramod Sharma, Vice Chancellor Prof Dharam Buddhi, Dean-Research Prof Ajay Singh honoured the students in different categories. Winners in Best Categories were Student literature award- Ayushi Bhandari (MSc Foodtech-3); Best Innovative (Research) student- Khushi Tehri (BSc- Biotech 3); Best Presentation Skills (Paper) – Kashish (BSc Biotech-5); Best Social Service Volunteer- Himanshu (BSc- Biotech); Most Punctual Student – Reona Ningthoujam (BSc Foodtech-5); Most Culturally Active Student- Kanak (BSc Biotech-3); Best Artistic Student- Harsh (BSc Maths- 5); Best Anchor Award- ManyaTyagi (B.Sc –Maths-3); Best Sportive Student (Boy)- Ayush Bhatt (BSc- Maths); & Aakash Yadav (BSc- Maths); Best Sportive Student (Girl)- Shrestha Jha (B.Sc- Biotech); Best Intern Award- Dheeraj Manral (M.Sc. Biotech); Scientific Presentation (Poster)- Shelly Kulwanshi (M.Sc- FND); Most Punctual and Disciplined Foreign Student- Edwin Pius (BSc-Biotech-3); Most Active Volunteer (Clubs)- Harsh Vardhan (B Sc- Chemistry); and Academic Star Award- Chhavi Saini (BSc-Chemistry).
The event was inaugurated by lighting of the ceremonial lamp. All participants were welcomed by Dean Prof Ajay Singh. State President Amit John described the objectives of the National Human Rights and Social Justice Commission. Vice Chancellor Prof Dharam Buddhi appreciated the efforts of School of Applied & Life Sciences for organising the event and congratulated all the winners.
District President Pramod Sharma briefed about the activities of NHRSJC. Dr Sadhna Awasthi proposed vote of thanks. Other members Dr VK Srivastava, Yogesh Kumar Awasthi, Dr Nishesh Sharma, Dr Indra Rautela and Harish Kumar were also present.
