Dehradun, 15 Jun: The oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected executive committee (2026-29) of the Uttarakhand State Child Welfare Council was held at the Bal Bhavan, here.
Former office-bearers, founding members, and newly elected committee members participated in the event, sharing their views on child welfare issues and future plans.
The programme commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Outgoing General Secretary Pushpa Manas invited members of the previous executive committee to share their experiences.
Outgoing Senior Vice President Jagdish Babla extended his best wishes to the newly elected office-bearers, suggesting that the Council should strive to secure financial support from the government—similar to practices in other districts—to extend more facilities to needy children.
Outgoing Vice President Madhu Beri emphasised the need for the continuous operation of child welfare programs. Conveying a message of maintaining a positive attitude even amidst adversity, she remarked that one should learn to bloom like a lotus, even in difficult circumstances.
Outgoing General Secretary Pushpa Manas stated that special efforts, involving the mobilisation of human resources, would be required to achieve the Council’s objectives. She also highlighted the necessity of repairing and maintaining Bal Bhavan.
Outgoing Treasurer Asha Srivastava expressed pride in being a founding member of the Council and affirmed her commitment to continue working for the organisation in the future. Outgoing Joint Secretary Kamleshwar Bhatt mentioned that he has been providing educational and social services to the Council since 2011 and would continue to contribute whenever needed.
The newly elected team comprises Senior Vice President Dr S Farooq, Vice Presidents Pushpa Manas and Mohan Singh Khatri, General Secretary Asha Rani Painyuli, Treasurer Rohit Kochgave, and Joint Secretary Jyotsna Khatri.
General Secretary Asha Rani Painyuli expressed gratitude to the former office-bearers and members, noting that their cooperation would be instrumental in taking the Council to new heights.
Jyotsna Khatri conducted the proceedings of the event. Asha Rani Panyuli honoured the guests by presenting them with traditional stoles and mementos.
