Graphic Era’s latest invention dedicated to the world

By Our Staff Reporter
Dehradun, 27 Apr: Graphic Era today dedicated its latest typhoid test kit to the nation. Developed by Graphic Era, this is the first kit of its kind in the world. This kit, which has been patented by Graphic Era, can quickly conduct a typhoid test. There is no such technology for accurate typhoid diagnosis in the world so far.
The kit named VANSCAN was launched by CEO, Vanguard Diagnostic, Veena Kohli in Medical Fair India at Pragati Maidan, Delhi. VANSCAN is a new gold standard testing kit. A total of 17 countries are participating in this 28th International Exhibition and Conference being organised as part of the Fair. There are exhibitors from the field of top medical technologies, biotechnology, and diagnostic industries to display their innovative products in the medical fair.
Chairman, Graphic Era Group of Institutions, Prof (Dr) Kamal Ghanshala, while congratulating the scientists of the university for this great invention said that this kit will bring major changes in the field of medicine. He added that it will not only make the diagnosis of typhoid trouble-free, but its fool-proof results will also save patients from getting wrong treatment by doctors all over the world.
Dr Ghanshala said that Vanguard Diagnostic is playing an important role in taking this invention of Graphic Era to the doctors and patients around the world. The central government has endorsed many such inventions by Graphic Era by giving them university patents. Steps are being taken to make more and more people get advantage of these inventions.
It may be noted here that VANSCAN is the first RT-PCR test kit based on patented technology and targets both typhoid causing pathogens, –Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi–. The present typhoid detection techniques in the world can screen only Salmonella typhi. Typhoid is currently diagnosed with the help of Widal test, but its results are not completely reliable. Generally, around 14 percent of typhoid positive reports are false in this test. For this reason, doctors recommend a culture for confirmation of the Widal test report, but its report takes around a week’s time.
At the launch of VANSCAN today, the inventors of the technology, Head, Department of Microbiology, Dr Pankaj Gautam, faculty member of the department, Dr Ashish Thapliyal, Head, Department of Biotechnology, Dr Naveen Kumar, faculty member of the department, Dr Nishant Rai and Directors of Vanguard Diagnostic, Dr RP Tiwari, Anil Virmani and Rahul Thakur Majood were present.
