NIVH wins cricket match against UCOST in a match hosted by UCOST

Dehradun, 20 Jul: The Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) organised a one-day cricket match with the National Institute for the Visually Handicapped (NIVH) Blind Cricket Association, Dehradun. The match was played between the UCOST team and the NIVH team, comprising both visually impaired (B1, B2 and B3 categories) and players with normal sight, showcasing a symbolic example of unity and cooperation.

Prof Durgesh Pant, Director General, UCOST, also participated in the event and encouraged the players with his inspiring words. His presence and support added to the event’s significance.

Team NIVH won the match by 100 runs. The NIVH team, demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork, achieved victory. Naresh Singh Nayal, the coach of the NIVH team, played a crucial role in guiding and motivating his players.

As a highlight of the event, the players of winning team were awarded with mementoes for their outstanding performance. Deepak Rawat was declared The Man of the Match. Amit Pokhriyal, Manager, Public Relations, UCOST while giving mementoes observed that this match did not only provide an exciting cricketing experience but also reinforced the values of inclusivity and mutual respect. It was a memorable day for all involved, celebrating the power of sports to unite and uplift the spirit of those involved.
