Dehradun, 1 Jan: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi participated in a NSS camp organised by DAV Inter College, Karanpur, at the Sainik Vishram Grihs on Kalidas Marg. The camp focused on important themes such as de-addiction, public awareness, voter awareness, cleanliness, and youth motivation.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi said that an NSS camp is not merely a medium of training, but a strong platform for inculcating discipline, patriotism, and social responsibility. He stated that unity and discipline are not just words, but guiding principles of life, and that the future of the nation depends on its youth. Emphasising de-addiction, he said that substance abuse weakens not only an individual, but also the family, society, and the nation. He called upon NSS students to stay away from addiction themselves and to inspire other youth to adopt a drug-free lifestyle.
Speaking on voter awareness, the Minister said that an informed voter is the foundation of a strong democracy. Voting is not only a right, but also a duty towards the nation. He urged young people to become responsible voters themselves and motivate others to participate in the electoral process. Addressing the issue of cleanliness, he said that cleanliness is not just a government campaign, but the responsibility of every citizen. He highlighted the important role of youth in realising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve of “Clean India, Healthy India”.
Minister Ganesh Joshi said that NSS students are not only the students of today, but the leaders, officers, soldiers, and nation-builders of tomorrow. He called upon the youth to set high goals, make discipline the foundation of their lives, and place national interest above all else. He also extended New Year greetings to everyone and wished success for the camp.
On this occasion, Mandal President Pradeep Rawat, Anil Verma, Deputy Director (Sainik Kalyan Nidhi) Badhani, Principal Dr AK Srivastava, Chief Education Officer Vinod Dhaundiyal, Programme Officer Dr Babita Sahotra, Lecturer Saveen Singh, Mohan Bahuguna, and several others were also present.
