Officials must not harass people for birth and death registrations: Savin Bansal

Dehradun, 3 Jun: District Magistrate Savin Bansal chaired a meeting of the District Level Inter-Departmental Coordination Committee at the Collectorate here today, to review the Birth-Death Registrations.

On this occasion, Bansal directed registration officers to ensure smooth processes without public inconvenience. He instructed registrars to clear backlogs and seek additional manpower if required. Chief Medical Officer was asked to issue guidelines to all government and private hospitals for completing Medical Certificate of Cause of Death (MCCD) forms.

Regional registrars were mandated to assign CRS portal informer IDs to private hospitals and ANM sub-centres to ensure timely reporting. He further directed that all old unregistered birth and death records must now be updated on the CRS portal.

Bansal also ordered penalties and action under the RBD Act against units that have violated norms or shown poor performance in the last two months. The Block Development Offices (BDOs) were instructed to display details of Gram Panchayat registrars on permanent notice boards and the NIC website, while private hospitals must ensure similar displays within their premises.

The meeting was attended by Chief Development Officer (CDO) Abhinav Shah, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Harigiri, Chief Medical Officer Dr Manoj Kumar, Dr Narendra Kumar, and other key officials.
