Pantnagar, 3 Jul: At a meeting of the State Farmers’ Commission, Dr Shivendra Kumar Kashyap, Vice-Chancellor of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, emphasised the importance of ensuring the availability of high-quality seeds for farmers across the state. He stated that, if the university is informed of the state’s seed requirements, Pantnagar University is fully capable of supplying seeds according to the demand.
Dr Kashyap stressed the need for greater coordination between the state’s two agricultural universities. He said that, if students and scientists from both institutions work together in accordance with educational and research needs, it would significantly accelerate the state’s development. He also called for stronger collaboration among all scientific institutions operating in the state so that responsibilities related to development initiatives can be effectively shared and pursued collectively.
During the meeting, Director, Agriculture, Dinesh Kumar, welcomed and honoured the Vice-Chancellor. The meeting was attended by Ajit Chaudhary, Vice-Chairman of the State Farmers’ Commission, Sardar Surendra Singh Namdhari, other selected members of the commission, and senior officials from the state’s Agriculture, Horticulture, and Finance Departments.
