Pantnagar, 16 Jun: According to an order issued by Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd), who is Chancellor of the University, Prof Shivendra Kumar Kashyap, Vice-Chancellor of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, has been given the additional charge of Vice-Chancellor of Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Uttarakhand Horticulture and Forestry University, Bharsar, Pauri Garhwal.
The order issued from Lok Bhawan states that the extended term of the current Vice-Chancellor of Bharsar University, Dr Parvinder Kaushal, has ended on 15 June 2026. Additionally, Dr Bhagwati Prasad Bhatt, currently serving as Officer on Special Duty at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, has been appointed as Vice Chancellor. Until he assumes office, Prof Shivendra Kumar Kashyap has been given this additional responsibility to ensure the smooth functioning of the university’s administrative and academic functions.
Prof Shivendra Kumar Kashyap is currently serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Pantnagar Agriculture University. He will now play a key role in coordinating the academic, research, and administrative work of both universities.
