Passing out parade of U’khand Police constables held at SDRF HQs, Jolly Grant

DEHRADUN, 31 March: After the completion of the basic intensive training of newly appointed constables of Uttarakhand Police, a passing out parade ceremony was organised at the SDRF Corps Headquarters in Jolly Grant, today.

Chief Guest ADGP Amit Sinha was presented a guard of honour by the Commander of the passing out parade. The Chief Guest then inspected the parade.

While congratulating the newly trained constables, Sinha said that the job of the police is different from others. “It is a matter of pride to wear the uniform of the police, and the role of the constable is the most important, whose functioning displays the positive image of the police in the country, state and society,” he emphasised. He also advised the to participate in sports as that would help maintain their health. He expressed the hope they would take the image of the police to a new level.

Six contingents of the police took part in the parade under the leadership of Parade Commander Constable Vikas Singh to thunderous applause.

After the march past, Manikant Mishra, Commander, SDRF, while presenting the administrative report of the training, informed that, for the first time, training of newly appointed constables of the civil police has been organised at the SDRF Battalion in Jolly Grant. During the training, recruit constables (civil police) have been made proficient in all the disciplines of police functioning, such as drill, traffic control, crowd control, weapons training, field craft, map reading, disaster management, etc. Along with this, recruit constables were made technically proficient in subjects like CCTNS, drone technology, CCTV footage analysis, forensic science and cyber crime prevention.

Constable Aman was declared the Best Cadet, on the occasion, while Constable Sumit Singh toppes in weapons training

The Chief Guest awarded various awards to the selected trainees for their best performance in various subjects. Constable Mayank Tiwari was the topper in drill training, Constable Priyanshu was the topper in police training, while Constable Gaurav Rawat was awarded for field craft, Constable Sumit Singh for weapons training, Constable Aman in firing. Constable Lalit Mohan was the topper in physical training examination, Constable Mayank Tiwari was the topper in outdoor activity, while Constable Manvendra Shah was selected as the indoor activity topper. Parade Commander Constable Vikas Singh was awarded for leading the parade and Constable Sandeep Patwal was awarded for discipline. SI Prema Kandpal was awarded as best teacher, Constable Arvind Singh as best drill teacher, Constable Rahul Sharma as best PT teacher, Head Constable Vijay Kothiyal for major management and Inspector, Training, Pramod Rawat was awarded for overall training.

Inspector General of Police, SDRF, Ridhim Agarwal thanked the Chief Guest. She said that successfully conducting the basic training of recruit constables along with disaster relief training programmes is a matter of pride for the SDRF team. She appreciated the commendable and exemplary work done by the recruit constables in the important Kanwar Mela duty during the training period.

She also presented a memento to the Chief Guest.

At the end of the passing out parade ceremony, the Chief Guest administered the oath to the newly trained recruits.

Also present on this occasion were DIG, RTC, Rajkumar Negi, Superintendent of Police, Police Headquarters, Shweta Choubey, Additional Superintendent of Police, Police Headquarters, Chakradhar Anthwal, CO, Doiwala, Abhinav Chaudhary and other dignitaries.
