Dehradun, 2 Jun: Sharad Kashyap, elder son of Prem Kashyap, Chairman of Pestle Weed School and Pestle Weed College, has submitted a complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dehradun, in which he has alleged trespass, theft, intimidation and threats to his life in connection with an ongoing family property dispute. A copy of the complaint letter has also been forwarded to District Magistrate, Dehradun.
In his complaint, Sharad Kashyap, a resident of the Pestle College campus at Oak Hill Estate on Mussoorie Diversion Road, has claimed that he is in lawful possession and ownership of certain immovable properties forming part of a larger family estate. He alleged that for a considerable period, pressure had been exerted upon him by his father, mother and brother to relinquish or transfer his lawful property rights for what he described as inadequate consideration.
Kashyap has asserted that he has resisted the alleged pressure and subsequently faced repeated coercion, intimidation and interference. Kashyap alleged that tensions escalated on 31 May when his room and premises located at the Pestle College campus were allegedly entered without his consent after the lock was broken or opened unlawfully.
Kashyap claimed that the alleged act was carried out by estate supervisor Nishant Khanduri and carpenter Sunil Dhiman in the presence of security guard Kundan Negi and he further claimed that they were acting at the instance of his family members. Following the incident, Kashyap alleged that several important property-related papers, documents and valuables were found missing from the premises.
In his representation to the police, Kashyap further alleged that he had been subjected to repeated threats and intimidation in the past and now apprehends danger to his life, personal safety and property rights. He claimed that there was a possibility of further attempts to dispossess him from the property and tamper with records and documents connected with the disputed assets.
The complaint also contains serious allegations against his immediate family members. Kashyap stated that in the event of any harm being caused to him, responsibility should be fixed on his father, mother and brother. He further expressed apprehension regarding his personal safety and sought urgent intervention from law enforcement authorities.
Seeking immediate action, Kashyap requested the police to initiate appropriate legal proceedings in connection with the alleged offences of trespass, housebreaking, theft, criminal intimidation and other related acts. He has also sought police protection to ensure his safety and peaceful possession of the property.
The complainant has further urged the authorities to take preventive measures to avoid any escalation of the dispute and prevent unlawful interference in the matter. He has further requested that all relevant evidence, including CCTV footage and electronic records, be preserved to facilitate a fair investigation.
Copies of the complaint have also been forwarded to the District Magistrate, Dehradun. SP concerned and the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell, seeking intervention and protection under the law.
