Dehradun, 18 May: The Department of Petroleum Engineering and Earth Sciences at Graphic Era Deemed to be University successfully hosted the three-day long PETROVISTA Fest, a flagship industry-academia event organised under the aegis of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) International. The fest served as a dynamic platform bringing together thought leaders, industry professionals, and academic scholars to discuss evolving trends, key challenges, and innovations shaping the future of the oil, gas, and energy sectors.

The event featured well known oil & gas and energy industry writer and author Arun Kumar Singhal as the Special Guest. With over three decades of experience writing about the sector, Singhal shared his views on the current and future outlook of the oil, gas, and energy industries, emphasising the global energy transition and the growing imperative for sustainability.

Present at the session were prominent dignitaries, including Prof (Dr) Narpinder Singh, Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed to be University; Prof (Dr) Virendra Bahadur Singh, Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering and Earth Sciences; professors and faculty members of the university; senior executives from ONGC; and other distinguished guests from industry and academia.

A large number of students from the petroleum, earth sciences, and computer science engineering departments participated actively, engaging with speakers on topics of technological advancement, decarbonisation, and future workforce readiness.
PETROVISTA Fest reaffirmed Graphic Era Deemed to be University’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and industry collaboration in addressing the evolving demands of the global energy landscape, featuring a workshop on Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS) and a host of student-led technical programmes.
