Dehradun, 20 Jun: President Droupadi Murmu today released a special commemorative stamp at an event held at Rashtrapati Niketan, Dehradun, to mark the 125th anniversary of the historic Raj Bhavan, Nainital.
Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) was present on the occasion and expressed his gratitude to the President for honouring this heritage site with a place in the nation’s collective memory.
It is worth mentioning that Raj Bhavan Nainital is an outstanding example of British-era Gothic architecture. Its magnificent design, unique topography, and the natural beauty of its surroundings make it a distinctive heritage site.
On the occasion, the Governor also presented the President with the “Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat” coffee table book, which showcases celebrations of State and Union Territory Formation Days held at Raj Bhavan.
Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, Secretary to the Governor Ravinath Raman, and the Chief Postmaster General of Uttarakhand, Shashi Shalini, were present at the event.
