Dehradun, 25 Jan: President Police Medals have been announced for seven personnel of Uttarakhand Police on the occasion of Republic Day 2026 in recognition of distinguished and meritorious services rendered by them to the force. The announcement made today by Police Headquarters, Uttarakhand, states that one officer has been selected for the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service, while six personnel have been chosen for the Medal for Meritorious Service.
Under the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service, Yogendra Singh Rawat, Inspector General of Police (IG of Police), Personnel/Headquarters, Uttarakhand, has been honoured for his ‘outstanding and dedicated service’.
At the same time, the Medal for Meritorious Service in the police service category has been awarded to Prabodh Kumar Ghildiyal, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Rudraprayag district; Shivraj Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Champawat district; Jyoti Chauhan, Inspector, Civil Police, Vigilance Establishment, Dehradun Sector; Subhash Chandra, Inspector, Intelligence, Intelligence Headquarters, Uttarakhand; and Sajid Ali, Additional Sub Inspector, Civil Police, Police Headquarters, Uttarakhand.
In the fire service category, the Medal for Meritorious Service has been conferred upon Girish Chandra Lohani, Leading Fireman, Dehradun district, and Mukesh Kumar Pokhariyal, Leading Fireman, Dehradun district, for their commendable contribution and commitment to duty.
Director General of Police, Uttarakhand, Deepam Seth has congratulated all the medal recipients for their service and dedication and extended his best wishes for their bright future.
