Garhwal Post Burea
Dehradun, 27 Mar: BJP leader Ravindra Jugran met Tourism Secretary Dheeraj Singh Garbyal and informed him that the post of Chief Executive Officer of the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee has remained vacant since 17 March, following the relieving of the previous official.
He also pointed out that the posts of Executive Officer, Special Executive Officer, and Deputy Executive Officer are currently vacant.
He stated that one of these officials was expected to handle the responsibilities of Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO), but in the absence of an appointee, official work is being affected, especially with the March financial closing underway.
Taking the matter seriously, Tourism Secretary Dheeraj Singh Garbyal directed Additional Secretary, Tourism, Abhishek Rohilla to discuss the issue and ensure that all vacant posts are filled at the earliest.
Ravindra Jugran further reminded him that the portals of Kedarnath Temple will open on April 22 and Badrinath Temple on April 23. He cautioned that, if the vacancies are not filled in time, it may adversely affect the pilgrimage arrangements and overall preparedness for the Yatra.
He emphasised that to ensure smooth and efficient management, full-time officials should be appointed, as relying on additional charge often leads to practical difficulties and hampers effective administration.
