Rawat instructs concern officials for plantation drive during celebrations 

Harela Pakhwada to be celebrated in all schools and colleges

Dehradun, 10 July: Harela, the folk festival of the state, will be celebrated for a fortnight in all the schools and colleges from 16th to 23rd July. During the Harela fortnight, all the students including teachers and employees will conduct tree plantation in their respective schools, colleges and nearby areas.
Cabinet Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat attended a review meeting of the School Education and Higher Education Department at his official residence, on Monday. He instructed the departmental officers to celebrate the folk festival Harela in schools and colleges for a fortnight.
He said that Harela is a festival of earth’s decoration and environmental protection, which has been celebrated in Uttarakhand for centuries. To keep the tradition alive and connect the new generation with it, Harela fortnight will be celebrated from July 16 to 23 in all the schools and colleges across the state.

All the students including all the teachers and employees will carry out intensive tree plantation in their respective schools, colleges and nearby areas. Apart from this, there will be different types of competitions in schools and colleges on Harela which will include essay, art, poster, painting, debate, speech competitions. Along with this, public awareness campaigns will also be launched on a large scale to make the general public aware of the environment.
Teachers will be relieved after disposal of representation

Dehradun, 10 July: Cabinet Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat said that the teachers who have given representations against their transfers will be relieved only after the disposal of the representations. High officials of the School Education Department have been directed in this regard.
He said that many teacher organizations and transferred teachers have been informed through various mediums that they have been transferred to other schools instead of alternative places. While many teachers have given applications for their transfer to other schools in the same category. In the review meeting held at the residence of the departmental minister, he gave clear instructions to the departmental officers that the grievances of the teachers who filed the representation should be resolved within a week and only after that, they should be relieved from the original schools for new places.
In the meeting, Secretary Higher Education Shailesh Bagoli, Secretary School Education Ravinath Raman, Director General School Education Banshidhar Tiwari, Additional Secretary Higher Education Prashant Arya, RUSA Advisor Prof MSM Rawat, Prof KD Purohit, Director School Education Seema Jaunsari, Additional Director Mahavir Singh Bisht, LD Vyas and other departmental officers were present.
