CM attends VHP meeting in Haridwar

Haridwar, 26 May: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the meeting of the ‘Kendriya Marg Darshak Mandal’ organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad at Kankhal, here, today. He also inaugurated today’s session by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister declared that issues related to religion and culture are constantly being given due importance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the dream of many years to build a grand temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya will shortly be realised. Not only this, the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain has also been given a divine and grand form. After the formation of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, the entire appearance of the site in Varanasi has been transformed. More than five lakh devotees can now simultaneously perform Jalabhishek at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple by carrying holy water from the Ganga that flows nearby.

The Chief Minister said that the number of pilgrims arriving for the Chardham Yatra is increasing rapidly. In the coming time, the journey to Kedarnath and Hemkund Dham is going to be even easier once the ropeway projects are completed. Like the Chardham Yatra, work is also being done in Kumaon under Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission. He added that the committee constituted for the Uniform Civil Code in the state has completed more than 90 percent work, which will submit its report by 30 June. He reminded that a strict law has been made in the state to prevent forced conversions.

Mahamandaleshwar Swami Parmanand Giri Maharaj, Shankaracharya Vasudevanand Saraswati, Ram Rajeshwara Maharaj, Mahamandaleshwar Vishweshwaranand, Mahamandaleshwar Yatindranand Giri, Swami Vivekananda Maharaj, Secretary, Mahanirvani Akhara, Ravindra Puri, Swami Girdhar Giri Maharaj Adi also addressed the meeting.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami sought the blessings of religious leaders and mahatmas who had come from every corner of the country. He garlanded them one by one.

Among those present were Dinesh, Rajendra Pankaj, Ashok Tiwari, Champat Rai, Milind Parade, Nitin Gautam, former cabinet minister Yatishwaranand, former MLA, Laksar, Sanjay Gupta, BJP district president Sandeep Goyal, former mayor Manoj Garg, District Magistrate Dhiraj Singh Garbyal, Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh, Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue) Bir Singh Budiyal, Additional District Magistrate (Administration) PL Shah, City Magistrate Sunupur Verma, MNA Dayanand Saraswati, SDM Puran Singh Rana, SP, City, Swatantra Kumar Singh and a large number of activists and devotees were among those present.
