Retired Special Forces soldiers to train youth in border areas

Dehradun, 1 Apr: Major Arun Ambati of CLAW organisation, met Governor Lt-General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at Raj Bhavan and informed about the organization. He told that CLAW is an organisation of retired Special Forces soldiers of the Indian Army, which will provide training related to skill development, adventure tourism, education and wellness to the youth in the border areas after signing an MoU with the Indian Army. Through this program named ‘Soul of Steel Himalayan’ of the organisation, tourism, etc., will be promoted for the people living in the border areas. He informed that border villages of Chamoli and Uttarkashi districts in Uttarakhand have been identified for training under this programme.
Appreciating this programme, Lt-General Singh said that it will increase employment opportunities in the border villages and will also help in preventing migration. He said that apart from developing basic amenities in our border villages, we also need to focus on infrastructure facilities and connectivity in these areas, this program is a good effort in that direction. By declaring the border villages as Vibrate Villages by the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, their development has been taken up on priority. The Governor said that every possible help will be provided for this effort of the institution.
