Dehradun, 23 May: In a ceremony held at DAV (PG) College, here, two B.Ed. trainees from the Department of Education — Sagar and Gaurav — were felicitated with awards and certificates by Anthony Neelissery, CEO of Sterlite EdIndia Foundation, for their outstanding performance in the “Create a Question” online competition.
The competition was conducted in multiple phases. Gaurav, a fourth-semester B.Ed. trainee, secured second place at the state level (Uttarakhand), while Sagar, a second-semester trainee, secured the first position at both the national and state levels, bringing great pride to the college.
On the occasion, Anthony Neelissery stated, “Sterlite EdIndia Foundation is committed to building skilled, dedicated, and high-quality educators in India, and continuous efforts are being made at various levels to achieve this goal.”
Prof Savita Rawat, Head of the B.Ed. Department, informed that there is a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between DAV PG College and Sterlite EdIndia Foundation under which joint programmes are organised for the academic, intellectual, and professional development of future educators. She also noted that B.Ed. trainees are actively participating in all such programmes and achieving success in various competitions at, both, state and national levels.
The Principal of the college, Prof Kaushal Kumar, and the Vice-Principal, Prof SP Joshi, congratulated both trainees on their achievement and wished them a bright future.
The ceremony was attended by all faculty members of the B.Ed. Department, second and fourth-semester trainees, Prof Bharti Gupta, Prof Tanuj Bahuguna, Dr Onima Sharma, Head of the B.Ed. Department Prof Savita Rawat, Principal Prof Kaushal Kumar, Vice-Principal Prof SP Joshi, and several dignitaries.
