Dehradun, 17 Nov: St Joseph’s Academy Alumni of 1969 batch today celebrated their golden jubilee of passing out from the school. About 22 alumni along with their spouses got together on the occasion at the Alumni Hall of the school and shared their life experiences with each other. They also felt that their great school was still the pride of the town and continued to produce great scholars and professionals.
The inspiration behind this get together of the 1969 batch was leading entertainer and businessman of Doon, Deepak Nagalia. Speaking at the function, Vice Principal Bro Binoy noted that it was the love and affection for each other that had brought the 1969 alumni back to the school. He also thanked the old boys for coming from different places and getting together to relive their memories of the school.
Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty, one of the alumni of 1969 batch, is an Indian Foreign Service diplomat of 1977 batch. He observed that the motto of the school, Laborare Est Orare (Work is Worship) had inspired many of the students including him to be laborious and disciplined and made their lives hugely successful. SJA Alumni President Randhir Arora said that the school provided opportunities to the students for wholesome development and groomed them not just in academics, but also in various other activities. Old boys Tariq Hussain, Deepak Nagalia and Ravi Ojha thanked everyone for making the event successful. Among those present on the occasion included Vijay Negi.
