DEHRADUN, 30 Jul: A state-wide campaign will be launched by the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department against adulteration in edible oils in the state. This campaign will be conducted as per the Pan India programme under the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), which will start from 1 August across the state. This was informed by State Health Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat today. He said that under this campaign, which would run for a fortnight, samples of edible oils would be collected from across the state, and sent for testing. The sample report of edible oil collected after departmental inquiry would be made public. In view of increasing adulteration in food items, departmental officers had been instructed to increase sampling and testing of food items in the state. Rawat insisted that a special campaign would be launched across the state under the Pan India program run by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India with the aim of preventing adulteration in edible oils.
