DEHRADUN, 29 Jan: Sports Minister Rekha Arya has congratulated Jyoti Verma for winning the first medal for Uttarakhand in the 38th National Games. The Sports Minister expressed that Jyoti’s achievement will inspire athletes from other teams in the state to perform excellently.
Jyoti Verma, hailing from Bageshwar, won a bronze medal in her category at the Wushu competition held at the Sports College in Dehradun on Wednesday. With this victory, she became the first athlete from Uttarakhand to win a medal at the National Games. The Sports Minister extended her congratulations to Jyoti for this remarkable achievement.
Minister Arya stated, “Our athletes have put in a lot of hard work, and just like Jyoti, athletes from other sports will also bring home medals.” She also shared Jyoti Verma’s accomplishment on her social media account, wishing her the best for her future endeavors.
Jyoti Verma is currently serving with the Uttarakhand police.
