Dehradun, 19 Aug: Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehradun, Ajai Singh today conducted an inspection of the Doon and Coronation Hospitals and took stock of the security arrangements there. This comes in the wake of the recent incident of gang rape in a Kolkata Hospital as well as the gang rape incident at ISBT, Dehradun.
During his stay at the Doon and the Coronation Hospitals, Ajai Singh spoke to the hospital management and sought information about the security arrangements there.
On this occasion, women doctors and nurses posted on duty at Coronation Hospital and Doon Hospital celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan by tying Rakhis on the wrist of SSP Ajai Singh also. Singh assured the women doctors and other women staff present that their safety is the top priority of Dehradun Police. He also assured the doctors and nurses that giving a sense of security even during work at the workplace is the matter of priority for the Doon Police. During the stay at both the hospitals, the SSP also directed the police officials to deploy additional police force at the hospitals,
During the inspection, Chief Medical Superintendent of Coronation Hospital Dr VK Chauhan and Principal of Doon Medical College Dr Geeta Jain were also present.
