St Joseph’s Academy celebrates R-Day with gusto

DEHRADUN, 27 Jan: St Joseph’s Academy celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great patriotism and enthusiasm. The event was honored by the presence of Anil K Raturi, former DGP, Uttarakhand, acclaimed author, poet, and thinker, who currently serves as the Commissioner of the Uttarakhand Right to Service Commission, Community leader Brother Astinus Kujur, former Superior General and Provincial, Brother Jerome, Brother JC Carroll, Coordinators, teachers and the students.
The celebration commenced with the ceremonial unfurling of the national flag by Raturi, accompanied by Brother Astinus Kujur and Major General Sanjay Sharma,  president, SJA Alumni Association. This was followed by the national Anthem, rendered with heartfelt fervour, creating an atmosphere of pride and unity. In his address, Anil Raturi underscored the vital role of responsibility, courage, and unity in nation-building. He encouraged students to embrace these values and contribute to the upliftment of society. His words left a profound impact, inspiring both students and staff to reflect on their roles as future leaders and responsible citizens.
The programme featured a series of captivating performances. The school choir delivered a moving musical tribute, while speeches in Hindi and English eloquently highlighted the significance of Republic Day and the Constitution of India. Dance performances celebrating India’s cultural diversity brought vibrance and energy to the occasion, and patriotic poems recited in Hindi deeply touched the audience. What followed next was the presentation of mementos to the Chief Guest by Brother Astinus Kujur and Brother Carroll.
Brother Astinus Kujur concluded with a vote of thanks and extended his heartfelt gratitude to Raturi for his inspirational address. He also commended the students and teachers for organising a thoughtful and meaningful celebration, urging everyone to uphold the ideals enshrined in the Constitution.
