DEHRADUN, 11 Nov: A special assembly delivering the message of ‘Universal Brotherhood’ given by the first Guru of the Sikhs — Guru Nanak Dev, was conducted with much reverence and sobriety to mark his 550th birth anniversary. Beginning with a prayer seeking the Almighty’s blessings, the assembly saw young children reiterating the teachings of the Guru. Following this, the students dressed suitably for the occasion, shed light on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak, and sang hymns which illuminated the valour and true spirit of the Khalsa Panth, further radiating peace and tranquility in the atmosphere. ‘By conquering your mind, you conquer the world,’ the assembly ended with the inspiring words of the Guru which hold the eternal truth for all.
