Jolly Grant, Dehradun, 22 Jun: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, a state-of-the-art, fully air-conditioned gym was inaugurated on Saturday at the SDRF Uttarakhand campus in Jolly Grant by Commandant Arpan Yaduvanshi.
This initiative is an important step under the Fit India Movement, inspired by the Prime Minister and Chief Minister, aimed at further enhancing the physical strength, mental balance, and operational efficiency of SDRF personnel.

The newly established gym is equipped with modern fitness machines and features dedicated zones for cardio, strength training, free weights, and stretching. Under the supervision of trainers, personnel will have access to safe, effective, and purpose-driven workouts.
On this occasion, Commandant Arpan Yaduvanshi inspected the gym facilities and, addressing the personnel, said, “For SDRF, not just technical expertise but physical and mental fitness are equally essential. This gym will strengthen the capabilities of SDRF personnel to perform in challenging disaster response situations.”
He further stated that the gym will give a new dimension to SDRF’s training strategies and will play a key role in building self-confidence and maintaining a healthy balance during field duties.
The event was attended by Deputy Commandant Shubhank Raturi, Assistant Commandant Shantanu Parashar, Quartermaster Rajeev Rawat, Sub-Inspector Jaipal Rana, and other personnel.
