Dehradun, 11 Jul: BJP’s state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan today claimed that Congress leaders’ concern over construction of a symbolic temple of Lord Kedarnath in Delhi is either politically motivated or they have little understanding of Sanatan dharma.

Chauhan asserted that the importance of any Jyotirlinga does not decrease by constructing a symbolic temple in Delhi or anywhere else. There is a mention of 12 Jyotirlingas in the Puranas and it is impossible that any change will result out of the construction of a symbolic temple anywhere else. He said that there are many symbolic temples of many deities in the country and people with faith have been worshipping there for centuries. The followers of Sanatan Dharma will not feel hurt by this but will feel relieved. He asserted that those who call a symbolic temple a centre and branch of the original temple have little understanding of the Sanatan traditions. The temple is not a commercial institution which can be addressed as centre or branch.

The BJP leader also termed the the Sadbuddhi Yagna performed by Congress leaders against the construction of symbolic Kedarnath temple in Delhi a sham and said that these so-called protectors of the flag of religion were laughing at the insult to Sanatan when the Congress-backed lawyer was claiming in the court that Lord Ram did not exist. At that time, they did not protest in any way before their high command.

Chauhan said that the Congressmen who always criticise Sanatan for appeasement are today preaching about Sanatan, which is ridiculous. He said that the people of the country are well aware of this behaviour of the opponents of Sanatan and will not forgive them.

He also accused the Congress of opposing Sanatan and taking a contract to insult Devbhoomi. Those who have always been trying to save the Babri Masjid built in the name of the invaders, are now objecting to the construction of a temple in the name of Kedarnath.
