Vikasnagar, 29 May: A teenage girl from a village in the Kotwali Vikasnagar area was taken to Haryana and forced into marriage. When the minor girl resisted, she was given a cold drink laced with intoxicants and then raped by the man who had forcibly married her. The FIR was registered in this case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) at Vikasnagar police station.
According to the FIR, the girl’s neighbor, an elderly woman, took her to Haryana, saying they were going on a trip. However, once they reached there, the girl was made to marry a man named Sandeep in a village temple.
On the night of February 7, 2025, Sandeep tried to assault her. When she resisted, his sister gave her a cold drink mixed with intoxicants. She lost consciousness, and when she woke up, she realized she had been assaulted.
The girl protested and made noise at Sandeep’s house. He then called Anita, who is said to be his aunt, and both of them took the girl back to her village. Sandeep also threatened her and others to stay quiet. The girl then informed the village head, but no action was taken.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against four people—Sandeep from Haryana, Anita, and two locals from Vikasnagar, Darshi Devi and Kalam Singh.
