Theft accused arrested by Doon Police, stolen wires recovered

Dehradun, 11 Jun: Under Operation Prahar, Dehradun police have solved a theft case reported from a house under construction in Kotwali Nagar. Acting swiftly on a complaint lodged by Pradeep Duggal of National Road, Laxman Chowk, police had registered a case after unknown thieves stole electrical wires from his property.

Following instructions from the SSP Dehradun Pramendra Dobal, a team was constituted to investigate the incident. CCTV footage from the locality and surrounding routes was examined, and the informers were also activated to trace suspects. Yesterday, the Police arrested Shiva Rathore alias Shibbu, son of Bhupendra Singh Rathore, resident of Kanwali Road, Dehradun and also recovered eight bundles of stolen electrical wires from his possession.

During interrogation, the accused admitted to committing the theft to meet his drug addiction expenses. He has been booked under relevant sections of law and further investigation is underway.

Police officials stated that the arrest highlights the effectiveness of Operation Prahar, which is aimed at cracking down on criminal activities across the district.
