Dehradun, 4 Aug: The government has decided to hold a 3 day Monsoon session in Gairsain (Bhararisain) from 21 to 23 August.  For this the session has been convened from 21 August on the orders issued by Principal Secretary Legal and Legislative Affairs.  Earlier, the government was mulling to hold the session from 5 August onwards but in view of the various disasters due to excessive rains in several parts of the state, the session has been delayed. Now it will be held from 21 August onwards.

The government has also overcome its confusion whether to hold the Monsoon session in Dehradun or in Gairsain and finally, decided to hold the session in Gairsain. Last time, the session convened in Gairsain was actually held in Dehradun under the pretext of cold conditions prevailing in Gairsain and allegedly in line with the opinion expressed in writing and orally by several MLAs to hold the session in Dehradun.

With the passage of time, the assembly sessions in Uttarakhand are getting shorter and shorter only.

On 21 August, several bills are likely to be tabled apart from routine business like Question Hour and Zero Hour. On 22 August, the legislative work will continue while on 23 August, which is likely to be the last day of the session, private bills can be presented apart from completing the legislative business.
