Dehradun, 8 Oct: Three more buildings allegedly owned by Recruitment mafia Hakam Singh, were demolished today with the help of bulldozers. So far five buildings owned by Hakam Singh have been demolished. It may be recalled that Hakam Singh is currently in jail for his role in the recruitment scams related to UKSSSC.
While two resorts owned by Singh had already been demolished before, three more buildings were demolished today, after the administration completed all the preparations for the demolition on the very first day itself. It will be pertinent to point out here that all the three buildings have been constructed by encroaching on government land. The administration had earlier also issued orders to vacate them.
On 4 October, Govind Wildlife Vihar Administration had demolished two resorts built by Hakam Singh on forest department land. After this, the Revenue Department had also given orders to vacate three buildings built on government land, whose deadline was fixed on 7 October. These buildings were however not vacated till yesterday which was the stipulated time, and now the administration today demolished them.
SDM Purola Jitendra Kumar informed that the High Court had directed that if the said buildings were built on the land owned by Singh, then no action be taken but they be demolished in case they had been built on government land and the cost of demolition also be taken from the concerned party. SDM Jitendra Kumar said that the order to vacate the buildings had not been followed. Now the above buildings were demolished on Saturday. The cost of demolition would be recovered from the party concerned.
