Kotdwar, 5 Jun: A condolence meeting in memory of the late Major General Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri (Retd) was held at Haldi Hath Wedding Point in Durgapuri, Kotdwar, today.
The gathering was attended by representatives of various social organisations, public representatives, and prominent citizens from Kotdwar and nearby areas, who paid their heartfelt tributes by offering floral respects to his portrait.
On this occasion, Maninderjeet Singh Bitta, who was present as a distinguished guest, addressed the gathering and recalled the invaluable contributions of BC Khanduri to the nation and society. He highlighted various aspects of his remarkable personality and achievements.
Addressing the assembly, Ajay Kothiyal stated that the life of the late Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri was an exemplary model of national service, discipline, and dedication. He remarked that his ideals and work would continue to inspire future generations.
Addressing the gathering, Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan shared her personal memories of her father. She expressed her pride and honour in being his daughter. She said that her father’s discipline, commitment to national service, and sense of responsibility toward society remain the greatest sources of inspiration in her life.
All those present at the condolence meeting fondly remembered the contributions of Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri and paid their respectful tributes. The programme concluded with two minutes silence observed in his memory.
