U’chal University holds ‘No Smoking Day’ & ‘Anti-Drug Awareness Rally’

Dehradun, 12 Mar: Globe Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University, organised a ‘No Smoking Day’ and ‘Anti-Drug Awareness Rally’ in collaboration with Jai-Youth Wing and Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Seva Samiti to inspire the youth to stay away from drug addiction. The main objective of this campaign was to raise awareness about the ill effects of tobacco and drugs in society and to motivate the youth to adopt a drug-free life.

The organisation of the rally was guided by Executive Director Dr.Abhishek Joshi, SA & IT of Uttaranchal University, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Dharam Buddhi, Director Prof Dr Pradeep Suri, UIM, and Department Head Dr Tilottama Singh. Also, there was special cooperation from Vinayak Sharma Swami, President of Jai Youth Wing and Shri Nityananda Swami Jan Seva Samiti. The programme was conducted by Globe Club Head Rohit Dhiman and his team comprising Dr Preeti Tyagi, Dr Navneet Kumar Shukla, Sakshi Chamoli, Dr Deepshi Garg, and Sanjana Kaithwal.

The rally started from Uttaranchal University and was taken out to Prem Nagar. Students and teachers participated in it with great enthusiasm. Carrying posters and banners with awareness messages like “Say no to drugs – say yes to life!”, “Adopt health, remove addiction!”, the participants alerted the public about the dangers of tobacco and drugs throughout the route.
