U’chal Varsity holds Model Exhibition

Dehradun, 8 May: ‘Uttaranchal College of Polytechnic’, Uttaranchal University, celebrated yet another day of students’ achievements by organising a “Model Exhibition”, here, today. The final year students of the batch of 2016-19 from all the three trades – Civil Engineering (CE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), and Electrical Engineering (EE) showed their domain skills and technical competency by displaying a number of live model projects on which they had been working for many weeks under the expert guidance of their respective faculty guides.
There were numerous models that were praiseworthy and innovative enough to draw the attention of the Chief Guest, Chancellor Jitendra Joshi, who was accompanied by Principal of Law College Dehradun (LCD) Dr (Prof) Rajesh Bahuguna. The first among the projects was IOT based Home Automation submitted by the students of Electrical Engineering. It was based on the technology, “Internet of Things”.
The next in order was a “Seed Feeding Machine”, which was submitted by the students of ME, namely Mohd Wasi Khan, Utsav Sharma, Sankalp Chamola, etc. There was also an automated waste management system in the form of “Can Crushing Machine” submitted by Deepanshu Negi, Vishal, Kumar Jha, and Roopak Prasad, etc. Kunal Thapa, Shubham Saini, Tarun Chauhan and Avni Verma presented the solution for the ever rising problem of vehicle parking through their model of “Hybrid Parking System”. A very highly appreciated model due to its efficiency was “Flexible Drilling and Cutting Machine” presented by Siddhant Vohra, Suresh Chug, Rakesh Chauhan, and Ashay Dabral, etc.
A very special project was the state level award winning model of “Compressor-less Mini Refrigerator” presented by the students of Electrical Engineering. The students of Civil Engineering were in no way behind and displayed their skill and competency by models such as “Topographical Map of Premnagar”, “Road Traffic Analysis”, “Global Positioning System”, “Mapping of UCP building”, “Smart City Plan”, “Pavement Cross Section”, “Sewage Treatment Plant”, “Intelligent Transport System”, “ISBT Area Design” and “Hydroelectric Dam”, etc., which were presented by students like Aman Dhasmana, Prashant Goyal, Lakshya Singhal, etc., just to name a few.
The Chief Guest appreciated the hard work and efforts of the students as well as the faculty and encouraged them to continue to rise higher in their academic and professional pursuits. The Principal of Uttaranchal College of Polytechnic, Dr SK Shah reiterated his commitment towards excellence in learning and teaching at the college.
